About the PASTO Agricultural Museum

The Pasto Agricultural Museum connects the science and history of our agricultural past with the present day for almost 10,000 visitors per year.

Exhibits, programs, demonstrations and tours provide an understanding of our local and regional history, where our food comes from, and the inventions and technology that have made food production on a large scale possible. The museum collection focuses on what life was like and how work was done before gasoline engines and rural electrification, through the 1930s. Programs at the museum immerse visitors, students, research faulty, and professionals, in thinking about our food and fiber systems and natural resources. Highlighting current agricultural science research and practice, the museum provides a forum for exploring important issues facing agriculture and the environment.

See and touch tools and equipment used in early agriculture and rural life. Understand early technological developments in agriculture through the 1930’s. Appreciate a time when energy for work was supplied by the power of humans and domesticated animals. Programs offer activities, demonstrations, lectures & tours that highlight the museum collection, and connect agricultural history to the present day. For details, visit agsci.psu.edu/pasto
